Inviting Sister Schools Sending Students to Visit Taiwan,New Progress in Connection between Taiwanese Culture and Overseas

“National Pingtung University News”

Since the school was merged into NPTU in 2014, the school has actively linked with sister schools in Southeast Asia, and has responded to the government's “New Southbound Policy” to actively handle the holiday school camp curriculum, and invited NPTU's sister schools in Southeast Asia to send their students to Taiwan for short-term exchange.  Through short-term camp activities, our school allows Southeast Asian students to experience Taiwanese culture in depth and strengthen partnerships with sister schools in Southeast Asia.  In addition to the camps for students, there are also a number of camps and workshops dedicated to the teachers of sister schools.  The result is successful.

Taking 2019 as an example, the school held ten studying camps, and invited sister schools to deliver their teachers and students to study in National Pingtung University.  All of these camps received favorable comments and assisted overseas sister school teachers and students to understand our school:

After teachers of our school actively contacted and visited overseas, our school signed the MOU with the overseas sister school and gradually accumulated the energy of international cooperation. Therefore, it is now possible to work with overseas sister schools to improve academic power and make significant progress on it.  In the first semester of the 108th school year, we received more than 40 students from the RTUTT to come to the school for practicum; in addition, we also received students from the TRU, and mixed them into a group with the students of Department of Education of NPTU in order to process collective teaching practicum in our affiliated experimental primary.  Moreover, from November 22nd to 24th, we will hold a TICST International Seminar with RMUTT.  We are also cooperating with the Thu Dau Mot University in Vietnam. In the future, we will accept Chinese major students from the Vietnamese side in group to come to our school to study for a formal master degree in the Department of Chinese.  Additionally, We have been entrusted by the Ministry of Education to handle the Teachers With No Borders Program and Overseas Teaching Program, and to export Taiwan's high-quality educational soft power overseas. The varied opportunities for deepening international cooperation in the future have already sprouted, and it will grow stronger.

We hope that more foreign students will join the NPTU in the future in order to build the NPTU an international vision which shall become the best foundation for the future research of the teachers and students in NPTU.
